David Haubert was first elected to the Dublin City Council in 2012, and elected Mayor in November 2014. Prior to his election to the City Council, David was a member of the Dublin Unified School District Board of Trustees for ten years, serving as President of the Board in 2009 and 2010. His commitment to the community has included service on Alameda County Local Area Formation Commission (LAFCO), Anka Behavioral Health Inc. Board of Directors, Dublin Unified Soccer League Board of Directors, Hope Hospice Advisory Board, and Easter Seals Bay Area Finance Committee. He is also an active member of the Dublin Rotary and a volunteer for the Red Window Project, a non-profit committed to combating human trafficking. An independent businessman, David has over twenty years of experience leading sales and marketing teams at national manufacturers, grocery retailers and solution providers throughout the county. Companies include Nestle, Pepsi-Co, Safeway and IBM. He now advises Fortune 500 companies in the consumer packaged goods and retail trades on how to expand their operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and an M.B.A. from UCLA. David and his wife, Michele, have been married for 22 years and have three daughters.

Robert Kieve was born in Jersey City, attended school in Massachusetts and graduated from Harvard College in 1943. During World War II, he was Information Officer of the American Embassy in Madrid, engaged in American propaganda efforts. He produced several weekly programs on what was then Radio Madrid’s national network, wrote Spain’s first book on radio broadcasting (El Arte Radiofonico, published in 1945) and created a school for radio actors, writers and directors. After the war, he was active in broadcasting in upstate New York and worked as a writer for CBS radio and television in New York City. In 1953 he became a writer on the White House staff of President Eisenhower. In 1957 he became general manager of an AM/FM pair of radio stations in Rochester, NY, and in 1967 he formed Empire Broadcasting corporation, the company which currently owns and operates Radio Stations KLIV and KRTY, which regularly carry his commentaries. He has served as Chairman of the Board of the San Jose Chamber of Commerce, as President of the San Jose Rotary Club, and he has been active in a large number of other organizations, including Symphony Silicon Valley, the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and the San Jose Capital Club.

 Madison Nguyen was elected to the San Jose City Council in 2005, the first Vietnamese American to serve on the city council of any major metropolitan area in the United States.  On January 25, 2011, Nguyen was sworn in as San Jose’s first Vietnamese American Vice Mayor. She served on the City Council for more than 9 years with four years as Vice Mayor.

Madison’s advocacy and expertise include issues and projects relating to affordable housing, economic development, environment, public safety, transportation, and education.

 

Prior to her election to the San Jose City Council, Madison served as the President of the Franklin-McKinley Board of Education and has taught at De Anza and Evergreen Valley colleges.  She published her first book, “Vietnam to America: My Journey of Dreams” in 2012.

 

Madison received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and her master’s degree from the University of Chicago.

Mayor Harrison was born and raised in Fremont and attended public schools. He attended Ohlone College, and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics with a concentration in accounting at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Today, Mayor Harrison is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the East Bay Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition to his busy career, Mayor Harrison has continued his dedication to public service that was instilled upon him by his parents. He has served as President and Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Kidango (formerly Tri-Cities Children’s Centers), President and Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Children’s Fund of the Bay Area, a member of the Centerville and City of Fremont Combined Project Area Committee, and Director and Community Service Chair for the Fremont Kiwanis Club. Continuing his passion toward charities, Mayor Harrison has joined the Board of Directors of Boldly Me. He also serves on the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Technology and Innovation task force. Deputy director, International Affairs and Business Development

Brian Peck serves as deputy director in charge of international affairs and business development for the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). GO-Biz is the lead state entity for economic strategy and marketing of California on issues relating to business development, private sector investment, economic growth and international trade and investment.

Appointed in August 2013 by Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr., Brian is responsible for promoting California as a destination for international investment as well as California exports of goods and services in the global marketplace. Brian’s office identifies opportunities to ensure California’s infrastructure and business climate are globally competitive.

Prior to joining GO-Biz, Brian was an international trade and intellectual property attorney, advising multi-national clients on international trade, regulatory and compliance matters, international government and policy affairs, global IP asset management and trade-related IP matters. He is an adjunct professor for international trade policy and also international intellectual property at USC Gould School of Law. 

Brian served as Senior Director for Intellectual Property at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative from 2003-2005, and Director of Japanese Affairs at USTR from 2001-2003.  He was the lead negotiator for the intellectual property chapters in several Free Trade Agreements, including the U.S.-Colombia, U.S.-Peru and U.S.-Panama FTAs.  He also oversaw the implementation of intellectual property provisions in the U.S.-Chile FTA and the CAFTA-DR Agreement.  As Senior Director, Brian led an interagency team responsible for developing and implementing policies to strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights in Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and Latin America; and was also responsible for overseeing U.S. trading partners’ compliance with bilateral and international obligations to protect and enforce IP rights.  As Director for Japanese Affairs, Brian co-chaired the U.S.-Japan Information Technologies Working Group, and worked on regulatory reform initiatives in Japan’s legal regime for IP rights, as well as in the IT, e-commerce, and telecommunications sectors.  He also led bilateral talks with several Asian countries under the WTO negotiations to liberalize international markets for services; and led the U.S. delegation at the WTO TRIPS Council meetings on IP matters.   

Prior to his work for the U.S. Trade Representative, Brian was an attorney-advisor with the Office of the Chief Counsel for Import Administration at the Department of Commerce from 1998-2001, where he participated in a number of antidumping and countervailing duty cases.  Brian also participated in litigation before the Court of International Trade and international dispute settlement panels, including an appearance before a WTO Panel in Geneva. 

Brian graduated Order of the Coif and received his law degree, cum laude, from the University Of San Diego School of Law, where he served as a member of the San Diego Law Review.  He received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.
